COPx: Conferences of people worldwide
Thousands of small events create a bottom up, decentralized global climate conference. An alternative to the empty UN-ritual, every COPx will identify a little piece of action that can and will be done locally, right away. Every small step makes the difference.
Together, it creates the highest visibility and sends a clear political signal that people are ready for and demand meaningful climate action.
COPx is bottom up action, catalysing political will, forcing necessary policy setting on all levels.
Who we are
COPx is created by hundreds of people — from senior UN officials and business leaders to NGO workers and local community members — united by the urgent necessity of climate action. We may disagree on many things, but a deep concern for our planet and humanity is what binds us.
We are as diverse as the world itself.
What we do
COPx is a not-for-profit franchise. As an organiser, you do what fits best to your community — from beekeeping and rooftop solar to campaigning against the biggest polluter in your area. We provide the global connection, creative materials, and network support you need to shine.
A shared "Locapedia" and trained librarians help you find what has worked elsewhere, who did it, and how to reach them. As we grow, we will also help connect campaigns with funding.
With thousands of local organisers, we weave individual fibres into a powerful rope — binding communities to each other and to the world.
